It all started in the mid-80’s when entrepreneur Peter Hughes set out to achieve his dream and started a company called “Peter The Plantman Inc.”. 

The business came to life on August 11, 1986 as a single/one-man operation supplying plants, maintenance and supplies to firms throughout Calgary Alberta.

The company continues to increase in size and currently employs over 30 personnel who are trained in all aspects of horticulture.  We strive to provide exceptional service and work closely with our clients to build solid, long-term business relationships.  The success of Peter The Plantman is based on our strong relationships with our clients and can be attributed to the superior performance of each team member at our company.   Known for having a reputation of high standards, Peter The Plantman attributes such results to the expertise of its employees – who offer and demonstrate skills in horticultural design and a continued commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Peter the Plantman has earned the status as one of the premier corporate interior / exterior landscape professionals in the industry.  We constantly strive to keep current on all the most recent technological advancements and environmental programs such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) we assist our clientele by keeping them up-to-date regarding such programs so they may achieve credits towards LEED.   As well, safety is of the utmost importance at Peter The Plantman and every one of our employees is WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems) certified.

Our Greenhouse  location is situated in Calgary at 250010 Mountain View Trail Calgary Alberta T3Z 3S3 – approximately 1 kilometer from the #1 Highway.  Our greenhouse operation facility is 32,000 square feet. Our large facility allows for our tropical plants to acclimatize to the surroundings after being shipped from Florida and also serves to accommodate our clients by providing a greenhouse/warehouse to conveniently store plants and other landscaping materials.

Peter The Plantman provides a vast selection of interior and exterior landscaping products, maintenance and supplies.  Our clients range in size from one-man offices with 2 or 3 plants to very large indoor commercial gardens, atriums and shopping malls. We also install and maintain outdoor garden containers and hanging baskets throughout the downtown core of Calgary. We also do holiday décor / artificial Christmas tree rentals.
